Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Thomas G. Nohs is a cybersecurity executive, assessor, and compliance expert with more than 35 years of information technology leadership experience spanning enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, risk management, regulatory compliance, and Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity programs.
As the Founder, President, and Chief Information Security Officer of DataSoftNow, Inc., Thomas leads one of the nation’s growing cybersecurity organizations focused on helping organizations achieve and maintain compliance with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC 2.0, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), ISO 27001, NY DFS Part 500, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
Thomas holds the following industry-recognized credentials:
- Lead Certified CMMC Assessor (Lead CCA) – 2024
- Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA) – 2024
- CMMC Certified Professional (CCP) – 2023
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) – 2018
As a Lead CCA, Thomas has participated in and supported numerous Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Assessment Center (DIBCAC) assessments, CMMC readiness reviews, and formal certification activities. His extensive assessor experience provides clients with valuable insight into how organizations are evaluated, what evidence assessors expect to see, and how to successfully prepare for certification.
Prior to founding DataSoftNow, Thomas held progressively senior technology leadership positions, including Information Technology Manager, Operations & Technology Manager, and Director of Information Technology for a major international law firm. During his career, he has managed multi-million-dollar technology budgets, large-scale infrastructure modernization projects, cybersecurity transformation initiatives, and teams of more than 60 IT professionals.
Since transitioning into cybersecurity leadership, Thomas has worked extensively with organizations responding to ransomware attacks, business email compromise incidents, advanced persistent threats (APTs), malware outbreaks, and other cyber events. His experience working alongside federal agencies, cyber insurance carriers, and leading forensic firms provides organizations with practical, real-world guidance for both cyber preparedness and incident response.
Under Thomas’s leadership, DataSoftNow has become both an Authorized C3PAO and a CMMC Level 2 Certified MSP/MSSP, providing clients with a unique advantage through assessor-led consulting, managed cybersecurity services, and certification expertise.
Thomas believes the most effective cybersecurity strategy is prevention—what he refers to as operating “Left of Boom.” Rather than simply responding to cyber incidents after they occur, his focus is helping organizations build resilient cybersecurity programs that reduce risk, improve compliance, and strengthen operational readiness before an incident happens.
Through DataSoftNow, Thomas continues to support defense contractors, manufacturers, government contractors, and critical infrastructure organizations across the United States and internationally as they navigate today’s evolving cybersecurity and compliance landscape.
